The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has recently introduced a series of new initiatives to empower technical education in the country. The AICTE has also set up a separate Innovation Cell to promote innovation and start-ups among faculty members. Recognizing the importance of research and development in technical education, the AICTE has also introduced the Research and Development (R&D) program. Under this program, institutions are encouraged to undertake research projects in collaboration with industries and government organizations. The AICTE provides financial support and grants to facilitate research activities.
